Box of chocs and a chatterbox for 2016

Welcome 2016! As the new year begins I tend to think a lot about the year just gone and life ahead. They say life is a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. In some ways I agree, yes life is unpredictable, which makes it hard to prepare for anything in life, but I want to believe that life is what you make it.

December Style

I had been looking for a trench coat and I finally found one! I love styling it with these high boots as they add a little extra bit of warmth for the winter months, which is amazing for me as I tend to feel the cold so easily. My dress is also a thick material, which makes it a great winter dress and these I find so hard to come by! The outfit was perfectly warm for looking around outside at this Christmas market, which had been decorated for Christmas and looked lovely. I noticed how lovely the Lola's cupcakes stall was and had to take a photograph. Obviously I had to buy some of their cupcakes also because they just taste so good!

October Favourites!

So October has come to a close, it's becoming darker by the day and colder as the days go by! To end the month, I have picked three products that I have been loving throughout October!

I recently decided to try out Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara, after it was recommended to me and I have to say I am not disappointed. I currently use this as my daily mascara as I love the way it makes my lashes stand out so effortlessly. The mascara applies on the lashes so easily and it gives that full lash effect! It is also a reasonable price at £10.99 from Boots, I believe this mascara proves that a higher price does not always mean better.

Lovin' Lavender Life

One of the things that we sometimes take for granted is our health. We often forget how fragile life is and if you are generally a healthy person it can be easy to overlook how lucky you are. I am sure that anyone who has ever had a health scare, even the smallest one, would say that it suddenly changed their entire perspective. Health changes everything! Your health affects your life more than anything, right?

We have all had a cold or have experienced some sort of physical pain; do you remember how relieved you felt when the pain stopped? How happy you were to finally just feel well and pain free. Let’s never take that feeling for granted because not everybody has that opportunity.

London Days

I thought I would share with you a few photos from Borough Market and London Bridge from my recent outing. It is a pretty area for a walk by the river, especially in the summer. It was such a lovely sunny day, great for exploring London.

The market was very busy, especially as we had good weather, which is not something that we experience everyday in England. The refreshing fruit juice was very much appreciated due to the heat and I enjoyed some really tasty food from one of the food stalls! I would definitely recommend.

As it was warm, I was so ready to wear a dress! One of the things that I like about this dress is that it is so comfortable, knowing that I was going to be doing a lot of walking made it all that more important. I styled this with some trainers, after recently injuring my foot, sensible footwear had to be worn. The pink jumper worn over my dress is very light, which makes it great to just throw on when it gets a little cooler in the evening of a sunny day.

August Favourites!

I am absolutely loving Sephora right now, my friend recently went on holiday and brought me back this amazing Extreme Liquid Lipstick. As we cannot get Sephora in stores here in the UK, it was such a fantastic gift. What I love about this lipgloss/liquid lipstick is that it stays on so well! I have tried so many lip products that do not last long at all, so when I used it and found that it hardly smudges or budges, I was so pleased. I hate it when you have lipstick all over the place just because you ate! After I went out and ate it was still staying strong. I was very impressed.

Not only does it last long but the colour is gorgeous. The colour I have here is 'Outrageous Rouge' and it is beautiful! It is bright and transfers well onto the lips. It is surprisingly quite easy to apply, the shape of the wand is useful and helps with the application.

Pick Me!

A few weeks ago we decided to go strawberry/raspberry picking! I thought, what a nice summery thing to do! While I was there, it occurred to me, what a great way to get kids into healthy eating, to actually show them where their food comes from. It would make them much more open to trying food that they have picked themselves, giving them a sense of achievement. Definitely something I would do one day.

I would probably say that I am a 'fussy eater', but I am not sure how true this is, as we all have different likes and dislikes, but sometimes I feel my dislikes limit me. I try to imagine a world where I like every single food, the possibilities of what I could eat would be endless!

Keji Victoria

In todays post I would like to introduce you to Keji Ewuosho, owner and creative director of Keji Victoria. I recently had the opportunity to interview Keji and I got to hear all about her designs. What’s so unique about KV is that the emphasis on creativity puts the customers in the driving seat of their wardrobe. What is really great about KV is that customers are able to choose the style and the print of each item. KV Designs are not mass-produced, hard work and TLC goes into designing each clothing item, rather than making all the designs the same. No KV individual is the same!

In the words of Keji herself, 'The Keji Victoria (KV) individual is bold and creative, unafraid to embrace colour and style in the everyday wardrobe. The brand is all about timeless yet trendy pieces. It provides a classy spin on clothing to create the perfect blend between glam and everyday wear.'

London Days

I thought that I would take the opportunity to share with you a few of the photographs that I took recently in London. Sometimes I am so protective with my camera that I just do not use it as much as I would love to. I adore photography, so it is definitely time to start making the most of it!

Blossom Contagiously

You may have never considered yourself as a walking example before but have you ever noticed that people are watching? I often spot young girls watching me when I am out and about, and it makes me wonder, what are they thinking and what are they leaning from me? Each time it hits me, not only are we responsible for keeping ourselves in check when it comes to the way that we view ourselves, but also we have the responsibility of ensuring that we pass on a healthy outlook to the younger generation. They are definitely watching and looking up to us, so what do we want them to see and what do we want young girls to learn from us?

Let's Have A Positive 2015

I don't know about you but I find that it can be hard to stay positive in the winter months. The darker mornings and evenings, the cold weather and rainy days. I think it can have an impact on your mood.

There are positive days and sometimes negative days and sometimes we're not even sure why. It can be easy to feel negative even though we have so much to be thankful for!

So here is a practical way of being a little more positive this year. A helpful reminder to be grateful for what we have. I have decided to try and cherish all the little things that make me smile throughout the year. So I made a positivity jar.

You can fill the jar with anything that will help you to achieve more positivity. A great way to build confidence would be to fill the jar with positive attributes that you have or things that you are proud of. I decided to fill the jar with moments that make me smile throughout the year. I will fill it with things that I feel are blessings and the things that I should be thankful for. When it comes to the end of the year, I will be able to look back and be thankful for so many things in 2015.

January Days

Its January, so that means coats and hats! I do miss the warm weather, I don't particularly enjoy the colder months but I guess there is a purpose for every season so I try to make the most of it. I tend to feel the cold easily, which means I will be wearing a coat for the majority of the time. This is why I like to invest in a coat that I really like.

This coat is from TopShop, I believe I got this in 2011/2012 and it is still in good condition. I find that Topshop items tend to be of a decent quality and last a good length of time. I would describe this as more of a Spring coat but I felt like wearing it with this look. When I first noticed the coat, it stood out to me due to the fact that it is a little different. I remember falling in love with the mustard colour and the contrast that it creates with the black details.
